Welcome block and user cpanel modification request

Hi,
I was looking for some tutorials about creating floating or sliding user panel to change the default ugly and bulky block and then I found your forum.

In one of posts I saw an amazig theme here and I realy fell in love with its amazing login box and user control panel.

May I ask you please provide a tutorial to have something like that?

Thank you so much Smile

You can find login box tutorial here : http://community.mybb.com/thread-117646.html
For the welcome Member box its just css and images, with HTML.
Style the links with images that's it.
Good luck,
regards

RE: Welcome block and user cpanel modification request

Thanks Envira. Very nice tutorial. I implemented login box and it works! Smile
I also asked a question in that topic.

for the second part I should say that I'm not expert in css and web designing and I think modifying that block would be very complex for me and I need a more in detail tutorial for that.

Thank you for your help

RE: Welcome block and user cpanel modification request

I've solved this problem too. it almost done, but I would be greatful if you give the correct codes and modifications to compare with mine.
Thanks Smile

2 more questions, 1- how can I define default avator for users in this new block? 2- is it possible to configure the PM icon changes if user had new messages? for example it becomes yellow.

RE: Welcome block and user cpanel modification request

Sorry for my posts! It's because I'm trying to solve the problem by myself. Smile
I'va faced two other issues:
1- How to set default avatar for users who don't have avatar?
2- Using {$modcplink} and {$admincplink} only shows a text with full url of that part! to use images instead of these, I wrote these line just like the regular members and now admin and moderator image are shown for all members!!
Here is the code which I used:

<span class="ulinks"><a href="{$mybb->settings['bburl']}/modcp.php"><img src="images/blaze/mod.png" title=Moderator" style="padding-right: 3px;"></a></span>

<span class="ulinks"><a href="{$mybb->settings['bburl']}/{$config['admin_dir']}"><img src="images/blaze/admin.png" title="administrator" style="padding-right: 3px;"></a></span>

Thanks for your help.

For moderator icon I replaced:
&mdash; <a href="{$mybb->settings['bburl']}/modcp.php">{$lang->welcome_modcp}</a>
in header_welcomeblock_member_moderator

with:
<a href="{$mybb->settings['bburl']}/modcp.php"><img src="images/blaze/mod.png" title="moderator" style="padding-right: 3px;"></a>

and insert {$modcplink} in welcom_member template.

Similar code in header_welcomeblock_member_admin

Is this correct?

Avatar issue is not fixed yet.
